very nice, would play again

Nice flight game! I always like these types of games, and you had a unique spin on it. Once I got used to the controls (q, w, e) it was fine. One thing that I would like changed would be giving the player some extra time after the pig lands before going to the next screen - damage is still being done and there were times I felt like I was cheated out of thousands of extra dollars.

squidsquid responds:

Yeah the tradeoff is that you would have to wait longer at then end of a flight while nothing much is happening which some players might find frustrating. Glad you enjoyed it :)

great art and story

Great game, and I hope the next one is out soon! I enjoyed Alice is Dead, and this one is just as good to me.

Some improvements to consider - I had a tough time finding the ingredients to make the man sober (mainly the cricket). Perhaps if the creature gave more of a hint (crickets find rest under furniture) it wouldn't have felt like mindless clicking. Also, the text that pops up near the bottom after every time you click an item - it was a bit maddening to click "close" after each time. Perhaps you can make the text box disappear if you click anywhere?

Again, really great game and story, I look forward to the sequel!

Hyptosis responds:

That's weird, a few people have mentioned the cricket, but the girl even talks about the cricket under her bed in the journal. I don't know how to make it more clear, I would have thought the egg and the candle would be the hard ones. It's always a surprise to find what people have trouble with. ^_^ Also you technically don't have to click close if you don't want to, but yeah, hindsight shows that was a poor design anyway. You can still click though, with it open.

Thanks!

nice job given the time

Simple yet amusing concept...I decided to collect yellow.

The menu and ending screens could use a touch up...just so you know, the yellow words I got in the end screen after collecting 50 yellow were partly cut off on the right side so I couldn't read the full sentences.

It was strangely addicting while it lasted, nice job with just a day of coding!

potatopower responds:

Thanks man!
Pm me sometime.. I think I know why it cut off...
it was dynamic text... if it wasn't dynamic you wouldn't have been able to see it
Think it would be worth to make a second one?

nice job

I thought it was original, but I feel that there were some frustrations that kept me from enjoying the game even more.

I liked:
-level designs and pace of the difficulty
-overall look...i loved how simple and cute everything looks!
-tried to play this on a laptop pad instead of a mouse...it worked just fine!

Things to improve:
-a bit of background music perhaps? (I see something on the settings on the main page that looks like I could enable music, but nothing happened)
-unless you hit "play all" from the start, you have to click each level one at a time. I left and went back to this game later and hoped that "play all" would place me were I left off...nope! Did this mean I missed cut-scenes too? :-( I didn't want to restart from the beginning so I just got individual scores the rest of the way.

Overall enjoyable, here's hoping you come up with more games in the future!

Sparkworkz responds:

You definitely can turn on the music. Click the gear and the SFX and Music settings are there. On darker screens, it might be tough to see the musical note on the right. Just click the musical note to turn on music.

Pretty good!

I enjoyed the theme of sonic and the idea of a pinball game, but I found it was a bit too faced paced for my enjoyment, except for the bonus round, which was simple and fun. Perhaps to pace the game, every time you hit the pinball into the spinner the game will momentary pause and go to a cutscene or at least flash words on what you gained on the pinball machine? (EDIT: I wrote this after playing the first time. After going back I realized you put this in the upper left hand corner...to be honest I would have never noticed it if it wasn't for me searching around) Also, I only had one music selection to choose from, not the three that you mentioned in your notes. Music in the menu scene would be preferred as well.

Overall, it went by quick and was okay. I especially loved if the ball fell into the spikes you put in the sprite for sonic's death!

peterinns responds:

Thanks for taking the time to write something. Clicking on the "Options" menu item gives you the background music and ball style choices.

nice!

Pros:
Great background music and sound effects!
Cute robots!
Simple scoring system

Cons:
Very fast game, so fast it takes at least 2 rounds to get to know how each robot explodes. Maybe make this into a "story mode" and make a little introductory movie of each new robot for that round?
Very difficult to time it so that every robot explodes, maybe consider coming up with a version that you can upgrade to a bigger explosion or you must explode so many robots to continue?

Overall enjoyable, fun, and addicting! Congrats in making a GREAT game in only 3 days...how many hours did you put into this?

HybridMind responds:

Thanks for your review. Yeah, I have on my possible todo list things like upgrades and the like. I was intentionally limiting my scope on this project though. Save it for the sequel right? ;) I'm glad you found it enjoyable, fun, and addicting. I spent 3 FULL days on it.. so I likely have around 40 hours in it. Thanks for asking too!

nice!

Nice game! Great music and decent animation with more variety than I expected. The only thing that could've been better would be to put a checkpoint in after the catapult scene so if you died after you didn't have to go all the way back to the beginning.

Should we expect more of this knight in your future games? :)

OOGIDIBA responds:

yeah they'll be back for sure

cool concept

Interesting concept, but perhaps the point could have been emphasized even more with the door right beside you and a small challenge to fall down the pit? Despite you intentionally making the game simple (and choosing great music for the ending!) I feel like you should have presented the door as something simple to get to in order to win/lose but the pit should have been more of a challenge so that you have to work to lose/win. Unless that's untrue to your original message, of course.

Either way, it gave me something to think about. Nice one.

matrix5565 responds:

Thanks for the actual constructive review, I'll keep it in mind.

thanks!

Even coloring the flats used to be difficult for me in photoshop since I could never fill up all of the white space! The Select>Modify>Expand has saved me so much time!

The only thing I still have trouble is if I start to layer different colors and shadowing and I color outside of the lines it takes me so long to fix it!

Wavechan responds:

:D Yay! I'm glad. Flats really really save time. Are you hitting preserve transparency when you're shadowing and coloring different layers, or are the flats going past the lines...?
